Profile
Joy Qiu is a patent executive in Rodyk IP. She is currently working towards qualification and registration as a Patent Attorney.
Joy graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Engineering. During the course of studies, she specialised in Control and Automation. Joy obtained a merit pass in the Graduate Certificate of Intellectual Property Law and a Master of Science in Intellectual Property Management from the National University of Singapore.
Prior to joining Rodyk IP as a patent executive, she was a pioneer engineer in a lab-on-chip company having a research collaboration agreement with the Institute of Microelectronics. She was involved in product development, delivering cutting edge solutions for molecular diagnostics (RNA and DNA testing), which was also featured in the local broadsheet press (The Straits Times).
Joy also has working experience in the development of test solutions for the semiconductor and printed circuit board industry. In particular, she previously managed a team of engineers to develop testing applications for the products of two major hard disk players
Experience
- At Rodyk IP, Joy is mainly involved in the prosecution of patent applications in Singapore and overseas, principally in the ICT and engineering field. Her areas of competency encompass patent/design prosecution and maintenance, patent/design law advisory, handling outstanding patent/design examination reports, patent/design searches, due diligence checks involving patents/designs, and patent validity and infringement advice.
